The Moody Scholars program was initiated by the Moody Foundation in 1969.

Program Goal

The goal of our program is to provide financial assistance to qualified high school students in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree in the state of Texas.

Since its inception, the Moody Scholarship Program has awarded over $24 million to assist more than 6,280 students throughout the state. Many Moody Scholar applicants would be unable to pursue a higher education without some level of financial support.

Through this program, students have the ability to further their learning and grow beyond the classroom toward academic, and ultimately, career success.

Our Moody Scholars

During the 2022-2023 school year, 80 graduating students from selected high schools in Galveston, Dallas and Austin were awarded scholarships.

The Moody Foundation celebrated the end of the Moody Scholars selection process and the beginning of the recipients’ journeys with scholarship reception dinners.

Our recipients are now attending colleges throughout Texas, including Galveston College, Paul Quinn College, Prairie View A&M University, Schreiner University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas Christian University, Texas Woman’s University, University of St. Thomas, University of Texas at Austin, University of the Incarnate Word and more.
