The Moody Scholars program was initiated
by the Moody Foundation in 1969.
The goal of our program is to provide financial assistance to qualified high school students in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree in the state of Texas.
Since its inception, the Moody Scholarship Program has awarded over $22 million to assist more than 6,200 students throughout the state. Many Moody Scholar applicants would be unable to pursue a higher education without some level of financial support.
Through this program, students have the ability to further their learning and grow beyond the classroom toward academic, and ultimately, career success.
Our Moody Scholars
During the 2020-2021 school year, 79 graduating students from selected high schools in Galveston, Dallas and Austin were awarded scholarships.
Traditionally, the Moody Foundation celebrates the end of the Moody Scholars selection process and the beginning of the recipients’ journeys with scholarship reception dinners. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Foundation hosted ceremonies in school auditoriums instead. The Foundation is looking forward to resuming the banquets in the next school year.
Our recipients are now attending colleges throughout Texas, including Baylor University, Galveston College, Rice University, Sam Houston State University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, University of Texas San Antonio and more.
