GALVESTON, Texas – May 5, 2020 – The Moody Foundation is committing another $300,000 in grants to its Galveston County partners to support both immediate basic needs and first responder assistance.
This is the second round of COVID-19 relief funds. In late March, the Foundation announced an initial $250,000 commitment, now totaling $550,000.
“The Moody Foundation is honored to support those working tirelessly on the front lines and the nonprofits meeting crucial COVID-19 needs,” said Frances Moody-Dahlberg, chairman and executive director of the Moody Foundation. “Like all Texans, we’re dedicated to navigating through this pandemic by working together within our communities to keep each other safe.”
“The effects from COVID-19 are far-reaching and will have long-term impacts beyond what we can even imagine,” said Ross Moody, trustee of the Moody Foundation. “Now, more than ever, is the time to step up. The Moody Foundation will continue working with our local partners as we move towards rebuilding our community together.”
The additional funds will support these local organizations in providing much-needed services, including food, shelter, PPE, computers, rent assistance, employment, education, and physical and mental health resources.

“With this next round of COVID-19 grants, the Moody Foundation aims to alleviate the most pressing needs in the community, so those on the front lines and in vulnerable populations can get the care and resources they need,” said Elizabeth Moody, trustee of the Moody Foundation.
The Moody Foundation is continuing to carefully and thoughtfully deploy COVID-19 relief funds through its local partners to support the ones who need it most.
